Churros with Nutella and Cinnamon

Image Description

Feeling in the mood of a crunchy and zelidecious treat? Look no further, my Churros with Nutella and Cinnamon are soooo good that you will not be able to stop dipping and eating them!

Ingredients for 4 (even though there will be a fight over them so better double the batch):

  • 250 ml water
  • 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
  • 15 gr granulated sugar
  • 55 gr butter
  • 140 gr white flour
  • 1 large egg
  • vegetable oil for frying (I use sunflower)
  • 50 gr granulated sugar + 1 tbsp cinnamon powder for dusting
  • Nutella for dipping

Method:

  1. Put the water, salt. 15 gr sugar and butter in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. When it's starting to boil, set aside and add the flour, mixing with a spatula until you have a thick batter.
  3. Transfer the batter into a large bowl and leave to cool for a few minutes. Add the entire egg and mix with a spatula until the entire egg is incorporated and you have a smooth batter.
  4. Transfer the batter to a pipping bag equiped with a round tip (if you don't have a tip, just put in a clean kitchen bag and cut one end so you have a medium, nail size hole).
  5. Mix 50 gr of sugar with 1 tbsp of cinnamon powder in a bowl and set aside for coating after frying the churros.
  6. Heat a pan over medium heat with plenty of vegetable oil for frying (I used sunflower oil). Start adding the batter with the pipping bag, about 1 finger long each, and cut end with scissors. Don't overcrowd the pan with batter so the churros have enogh space for a nice golden fry and no sticking together.
  7. Fry for 2-3 min, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the churros from the frying pan and let them rest on kitchen paper for a couple of minutes. Transfer them in batches to the cinnamon sugar and coat well.
  9. Finish frying the remaining batter and coating the churros with the cinnamon sugar.
  10. Add a small bowl of Nutella on a plate and serve these decadent treats while still warm for the best taste.

Enjoy, it's Zelidecious!
